Date: 2/11/2024 Day 38 Port: PAPEETE (TAHITI), FRENCH POLYNESIA
Description: The islands of Polynesia are a gorgeous collection of volcanic islands and atolls strewn lazily across the grand Pacific Ocean. The island of Tahiti proper is the largest of the 118 islands and atolls that comprise French Polynesia. Papeete, the modern capital of Tahiti and her islands, contains government offices, hospitals, banks and many other services dedicated to serving the islands as well as tourists who come to these islands for a life-enriching experience.
Planned Excursion: None - All are cancelled due to the weather
Todays Notes: This morning we are between to Cyclone's. We are due to leave tonight at 9 PM. We might not and miss another port-of-call tomorrow. In the main theater we are having a super bowl party at 1:30 PM. Hopefully we will be able to receive the game signal with all the weather around us. Yesterday we had a total Internet outage from 2 PM - 8 PM due to the weather conditions.
Before setting sail there was a group of Polynesia Dancers came onboard to demonstrate their native dances. Unfortunately I only had my phone with me to take videos so the quality is not to good, over exposed due to the dark theater. I wish I had my GoPro. The dancing is amazing. Take a look it's worth watching.
